Exclude & Include

Description

If you need to exclude data from statistical analysis, then you:

  • select the data to exclude in the spreadsheet; the selection may either be a range of cells, or one or more complete rows (cases).
  • click Exclude on the Tools menu.

To include data that have been excluded, you:

  • select the data to include in the spreadsheet; the selection may either be a range of cells, or one or more complete rows (cases).
  • click Include on the Tools menu.

Data that have been marked as excluded in the spreadsheet will be displayed in red, but you can select a different color in the Options: Spreadsheet colors box.

The Exclude and Include commands are also available on the spreadsheet context menu (after right-clicking).

In the following example the age for case 4 has been excluded. In addition, cases 6 and 7 are entirely excluded.
