Program installation
System requirements
- PC with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 or 11; or Windows Server 2016 or more recent (all 32-bit and 64-bit versions supported).
- MedCalc runs on Windows computers with traditional Intel/AMD (x86/x64) processors, as well as on devices with Qualcomm processors (ARM64 architecture).
- On Windows versions prior to Windows 8, support for Excel *.xlsx files additionally requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (a free download from Microsoft).
- 2048 Mb of memory.
- 150 Mb free space on the hard disk.
To run MedCalc on a Mac, use Wine, or CrossOver. See Comparison of different methods to use MedCalc on a Mac.
Software installation
- After downloading MedCalc from our website, run the setup file medcalcsetup[32/64].exe (double-click it).
- When installation is complete, start MedCalc from the Start menu.
Note: administrator privileges are required to install MedCalc.
Registration
When you start MedCalc for the first time, a dialog box appears with the following options:
- Buy now: opens the MedCalc website to order a product key.
- Enter product key: enter your user name and product key. You only need to do this once — MedCalc will remember your registration details from then on.
If you do not have a product key, you can order a MedCalc license online. If you have lost your product key, use the Recover product key form, or contact us at [email protected]. - Free trial: run MedCalc for 15 days with no feature limitations and no registration required.
Sample data
The first time MedCalc runs, it creates a folder named "MedCalc" with a subfolder "Sample files" inside your Documents folder.
When you upgrade the software, the sample data files may be replaced by newer versions.
