  • Uses more system resources (RAM/CPU)
Boot Camp
(Intel Macs only)
  • Full native Windows performance
  • Best option for gaming or GPU-heavy apps
  • Very high compatibility (it's actual Windows)
  • No virtualization overhead
  • No longer supported on Apple Silicon Macs
  • Requires rebooting to switch OS
  • Requires Windows license
  • No macOS integration while running Windows
