Why Snipr

Get out of your way, instantly.

The Windows Snipping Tool opens a full window and asks what kind of snip you want. Snipr skips all that — one click on the taskbar icon, drag a rectangle, done. The capture lands on your clipboard in under a second.

Instant capture

No menus, no mode selection. Click, drag, release — done.

Clipboard-first

Paste directly into Word, Outlook, Teams, or any app.

Save as PNG

Right-click the taskbar icon and choose Save Snip as PNG.

Multi-monitor

Works across all displays with full DPI and scaling support.

How to use

Fast by design.

1
Click the Snipr taskbar icon — or press Win Shift Z Snipr stays resident in the system tray, so the hotkey works from any application without switching windows first.
2
Drag to select a region — or click to snap a window Drag a rectangle to capture any area. A single click (without dragging) automatically snaps the window under the cursor — including dialogs and MDI child windows. If no window is found, the full desktop is captured.
3
Release the mouse button A brief white flash confirms the capture. Press Ctrl+V to paste anywhere.
4
Press Esc or right-click to cancel Changed your mind? Either closes the overlay without capturing anything.
