Serif typefaces (fonts) have an extra stroke or decorative design on the end of letters. Whereas Sans Serif typefaces do not have any such design or stroke.

Sans Serif and Serif font

Some common Serif typefaces are Times New Roman, Georgia, Palatino and Garamond. Common Sans Serif typefaces include Arial, Helvetica, Robotica and Tahoma.
